In 2011 Melanie made her mark on primetime television as one of the professional dancers on Channel 7's Dancing with the Stars. For her first season she made the Grand Final with Australian Idol Winner Damien Leith then making the quarter final in 2012 with 80's Rock Legend Brian Mannix, partnering TV Legend Tony Barber in 2013 before taking out the title & winning in 2014 with AFL Star David Rodan.

 

Melanie joined the series with a plethora of accomplishments including UK Rising Star Latin Champion, British Professional Rising Star Latin Finalist, German Professional Rising Star Latin Champion, 2 time Australian Open Professional Latin Champion & represented Australia in the World Latin Championships in Moscow. Melanie was also invited & danced at the Kremlin Cup, Moscow.

 

Townsville born, Melanie decided to move to Brisbane & compete in the professional ranks & then onto London in 2002 understanding that strict training & discipline was what she needed to be a successful competitor.

 

Melanie has entertained & wowed audiences around the world performing in Jason Gilkisons Burn the Floor, In June 2009 she made her Broadway Debut & also joined the world tour including San Fransisco, Japan, Canada, South Korea, Germany, Florida, Amsterdam & became dance captain at Jupiters Casino on the Gold Coast heading an International cast.

 

2012 had an exciting start to the year with Melanie being asked to replace ex-world Champion Nicole Cutler, partnering Strictly Come Dancing's Brendan Cole in his "Live & Unjudged" UK tour & returning in 2013 & 2014. Another amazing opportunity for Melanie to return to London & perform for people across the country.

 

Other tours such as the Australian "Songs & Stories of Peter Allen"  with Todd McKenney is also a highlight in Melanie's career.

 

Melanie's skills are not merely physical. She has also worked as an Office Administrator for Suncorp in Brisbane, CGI in Sydney, currently Team Assistant with Stockland Residential & was the Office Manager for the University of Arts while training & competing internationally in London.

 

For Melanie, dancing is a way of life. It provides a medium for her to express her inner feelings and passions all while maintaining extremely high-pressure situations.

It is dancing that has made her such a competitor, both on & off the dance floor, and made her strive for perfection in anything she does.
